A Sommelier led wine tour of Prince Edward County's finest wineriesLeave it to our Savvy Sommeliers to make all of the arrangements of your day touring around The County! Greer Road is a busy street with three neighbouring wineries – each with different architecture & delicious wines.
Our tour will begin at Rosehall Run Vineyards where a Savvy Sommelier will give you a mini ‘wine appreciation class’ & trade tips on how to enjoy winery visits to the fullest. Armed with this new knowledge, our walk will start! Rosehall Run winemaker Dan Sullivan will tour us around the crush pad, fermentation tanks and into the County’s largest barrel room - while sipping wines of course – to understand each step of the winemaking process! We will wander down to Casa Dea Estates Winery for lunch surrounded by the vineyards, then we will burn off the calories with a stroll through the vineyards with Norm Hardie to learn how his winemaking team is preparing for the grape harvest. Although a lot of ground to cover, the walk will be less than 2 kms!

Join the Savvy Team as we lend a hand to Prince Edward County wineries to help with their grape harvest. Several winemaker’s have reported that this year will be an outstanding vintage with the vines loaded with high quality grapes that will make outstanding wines.
On this day, we will help one of the following small wineries – depending on their harvest schedule:

THE PLAN
We will spend the morning picking grapes, then enjoy a lunch feast in the vineyards with the winery owner & winemaker. featuring artisan cheeses from QuebecThere is so much more than just Cheddar!
Join Savvy Company’s Cheese Sommelier Vanessa Simmons - as she leads you through a delicious discovery artisan cheeses from across Canada.
And Vanessa knows. She has trained with the Cheese Education Guild in Toronto – Canada’s only comprehensive cheese appreciation program and spends countless hours with local cheesemongers and cheesemakers. Her passion for cheeses oozes while her knowledge will melt away all notions that Canada only makes cheddar.
With Vanessa showing you the ’whey’, you will sample and savour five to seven cheeses from Quebec. She will also introduce you to the fun-damentals of cheese appreciation including:
- Cheese 101 - how cheese is made and what makes it artisanal
- Different categories of cheese
- Cheese-y lingo
- Buying cheese
- Caring for cheese
Being a Savvy Event, of course, Canadian wines will be tasted too!
TIP: We recommend having dinner in advance – come early to dine at Thyme & Again Creative Catering for light meal
